I have always admired BEDS for its dedication to protecting the Sundarbans while supporting the livelihoods of local communities, including shrimp farmers, agriculturalists, and honey collectors. I especially appreciate the commitment of the young BEDS team, who work tirelessly to advocate for disadvantaged rural residents. Their efforts, together with the partnership between the Global Nature Fund, BEDS, and local communities, offer great hope for a sustainable future. 🙋

I was fortunate to spend a week at the Banojibi Eco Village Centre, visiting project villages, the Dolphin Sanctuary, and the Patrol Team. The strong teamwork and community commitment to protecting and planting mangroves inspired me, and the integration of mangroves with village and shrimp farming gave me hope for the future. Despite the heat, the Eco Village was a refreshing retreat, with its pond and swimming area providing rest and renewal. I wish Maksudur and the entire team continued success. I am truly impressed and wish them dedication and joy in their work. 🙋

It has been a pleasure working with the Bangladesh Environment Development Society (BEDS) since 2023. We were lucky enough at One Tree Planted to have visited BEDS on-ground in the Sundarbans and see the powerful & wholistic work they’re doing not just in mangrove restoration work, but across climate change adaptation, sustainable livelihood & finance, & integrated agriculture + fisheries, among others! We look forward to working alongside BEDS now and in the future, toward the protection & restoration of the Sundarbans and its resilient communities. 🙋
